Finished parts are bi-metallic or tri-metallic, providing a copper or white-metal antifriction alloy coating primarily on steel or bronze backings. A PbSnCu (Lead – Tin – Copper) compound measuring a few 1/100 th mm, known as a “lead coating”, can also be applied by electroplating to provide an additional “antifriction” layer.
